Communities of Practice June 5-6 Workshop Series

June 5th – 6th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at West Main Professional Development Center, Room 202
We further dive into CoP with a series of workshops that include best practices and strategies. The last hour will be a lunch-in quality session. This event is hybrid.
Sessions are as follows:
June 5th
- What comes first: Chicken or the egg? Identity, Belonging, Agency.
- We will be exploring “This Book is Anti-Racist” by Tiffany Jewell, and our Identity, Belonging, and Agency framework.
- The Community Resiliency Model
- In this session you will learn a set of six wellness skills/strategies that individuals can use when facing a stressful and/or traumatic event. Learn how to use it in your everyday time with youth and adults.

June 6th
Youth-Driven Spaces
- In this 2-part session you will learn how to co-create and co-facilitate with youth using planning, reflection, and choice strategies. How do we provide a space in which we can be adult partners in our youth spaces and share that power with them? If you will be designing and leading activities throughout the summer then this session is for you.
