Now more than ever summer learning is important to our community’s youth so that they can return to school ready to learn. Every summer Kalamazoo Youth Development Network supports 60 youth-serving organizations to engage 2,000 youth in high quality summer programs by ensuring all programs offer high quality and equitable summer programs like art, STEM, sports and recreation, dance, and leadership.
Youth who participate in high quality OST programs develop strong social emotional learning skills that they exercise in OST programming, in school, at home, and in their community. These skills improve school attendance, behavior, and academic performance
