The Tutoring Program is an after-school program designed to support youth in the Latinx community by providing academic assistance and homework help. We focus on educational success, social-emotional development, and cultural identity. Each student is paired with a tutor who offers support to help them grow both academically and personally.
Our youth engage in enriching activities/programming led by our staff and community partners. Each session is designed to help youth build their social-emotional, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through hands-on activities and culturally responsive programming. Our partners: The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, the Kalamazoo Public Library, the Gilmore, and SOMOS Stryker.
Daily Schedule:
5-6pm: Homework Time
6-7pm: Activities & Educational Programming
